I think the depth of your depression is make you feeling you are wasting your therapist's time-- which you are definitely not. Your therapist's time is meant to help you. As Rohag said if you've given this therapist a fair try and it's not working, you can move on to someone or something different. But quitting therapy will not be helpful. You say you have no faith in the idea that you can ever be cured. But your posting this, and asking the questions you do, shows that you do have at least a little spark of hope and faith. Hold on to that. Try to think in terms of remission and management of your depression. As yet there is no "cure" for depression, but it can be managed and put into remission. Please keep trying. As long as you do things will someday get better for you.
