Hello I just want to repeat what others have said because I believe it to be very true:
1) You are not wasting your therapists time. Depression makes everything seem negative, please believe he is not wasting his time and you are not wasting his time... Anything to try to help is worth the time and effort.
2) If it feels like it is not helping it may be time for a change, an new approach, maybe even just a new therapist for a fresh look. Someone with a different "bedside manner" may make all of the difference.
Please hang on to your fear of quitting. As long as there is fear it means a part of you still hopes for something better. It was that tiny bit of fear that I had that made me call a hotline at the last minute and led to me living. Yes I was hospitalized but it led to a different path than I was on.
Give therapy a chance or please try another alternative. Good luck, hope you find something that works for you. It can be hard.
