I saw something about that the other day. I don't know if I saw the same show. It seems things were complicated and all in an uproar back then. The kids now seem to be disconnected from the social issues of the day.
I saw something, or heard something about the shootings at Kent State and how 4 students where shot by the national guard. I told my daughter (18) that really one "student" was not a student at all but a 14 year old girl visiting the campus that day.
Things were invigorating and depressing at the same time back then. Not at all frivolous. Live changing. AND clothes were a heck of alot cheaper! To be fdressed in style at my school all you needed was you father's old flannel shirt! a pair of ratty old bells or jeans slit up the side and a bandana sewed in to make bells. Oh and be sure to have sandles or moccasins! and don't dare wear anything with a name on it! That means you wear buying into the capitalists thing! Horror! Look at us now...do any of you from that generation covet name brand purses and such?
