so there is job position here in town that i am fairly interested in, its for a care aids through a company called Oxford Healthcare.
I am interested in this position because I want to take a course in CNA work in the future, and thought working as a aid would be a good place, and way to work toward that as goal.
however the issue I have is that my resume does not have experience on it as to this kind of work.
I have requested from two hospitals in town that I could go in and do volunteer work with them which I was hoping to do for a while, whilst looking for work in town.
But I also know that in the competitive market of our economy right now showing experience in a field is helpful to someone when you are looking for a job.
I was considering the situation, and I thought maybe writing a cover letter and bringing it in with me when I applied to the job. Stating how I am interested in taking future CNA courses and hoping that with this company I could work with them in working toward that personal goal? lol probably not as poorly phrased as that in the cover letter but i think you all get my point.
I am just wanting feed back is this a good idea, should I mention that to make up for my gaps in work experience that I am currently seeking also to volunteer my time at local hospitals, but that my schedule is open enough to take on part time or full time work?
I got fired from a job at a restaurant a few weeks ago, one that I really liked and that I worked very hard for. But my hard work was not noticed by the owner's of the restaurant.
I am also currently working with Voc Rehab in my local area, which can help people with meal and physical disabilities get and keep jobs. Maybe if I informed them also about this job and my interest in the job they could brain storm with me to see how I could end up actually getting this job.
I think voc rehab can also call the companies and make personal recommendations to the company about yourself to help you get a job. As well as they can offer to pay companies to help the person (client)they are working with fit in with a job and do well at that job.
lol so I do have options.....I just want some extra opinions and on what would be good options for me to go about with approaching this potential job so I could make it work to my advantage.
I think I have end up self doubting and second guessing myself a lot since the termination for the last job also.
which might be adding to my nerves and anxiety on finding something new.
