T set me some homework to do while I take a newish friend to Harry Potter studio tours on Saturday...
'Hi (name), on Saturday could you at points in the day focus on your experience of being (name) in the world doing (name) things, so for example; attend to what your body feels like, (how it rests, gravity, how it feels to move, the wind on your face etc, how your organs feel inside), how you percieve the world at that point in time, what your mind is drawn to, do you feel more alive? Less alive?, any emotions that you are experiencing at that point in time..Do they change etc?... or anything else that comes up when exploring those moments."
(T added that she wants me to tell her all the things from the above on Monday at our next session)
At first I was thinking- hmm. Ok, I don't know where you are going with this but I trust you...
Now... Well, I practiced it and while it is doable in terms of the practice- I am so likely to forget as I won't be at home in my own environment- I will be struggling with small talk, hating the fact that there are so many people there, and definitely absorbed in the moment as the Harry Potter world means so much to me. I'm like a kid in a sweet shop there! I don't know if I'm going to be able to remember everything especially as she wants me to do it in parts of the day meaning a few times not just one or two.
I am getting more stressed then I was be already with the day out before adding this.
