If you're younger then texting is more acceptable. Honestly I'm one of the youngest gen x'ers and I don't take guys seriously when they only text. If a guy can't speak to me on the phone I honestly believe he's wasting my time and pay little attention. I learned this lesson the hard way, repeatedly. But texting is the norm for younger people so if you are younger then text her. Do NOT ask her to "hang out". Hanging out is for friends and if a guy asks just to hang out, his intentions are unclear as he's coming off as not wanting something serious. I say this as a female who has mainly guy friends. If she has a lot of guy friends too and you just want to "hang out" then she may interpret this as a friend gesture.
