Theoretically it can, as it does act on a couple serotonin receptors in addition to dopamine receptors. I don't know how much it does in "real life'. It works fairly similarly to abilify and I've seen mania/hypomania with abilify quite a few times.

Talk to your doc. Maybe you need to switch to something more selective.
