I'd skip the gimmick-y alarm clock. You can get the 10,000 lux lamp and put it on a wall outlet timer.
They are pricey, but I would say that if you want to spring for a Happy Light, then make sure you spring for one thats backed by studies.
This is the one I use. Its very sturdy and I use it as directed everyday. I definately can feel the difference.
