Cytomel was started because depression was NOT getting any better. About a week later I felt like a new woman with energy, sleeping regular instead of all day, finally gave a darn about what I looked like or how people thought of me.
After a month on cytomel, the symptoms are returning. My psych put me on this and then set an appointment for 3 months. I told him probs were rising back up so he did a TSH lab. Normal results.
Every woman on my Mom's side of the family all have had some kind of thyroid trouble. Some get away with synthroid, some docs think they are nuts and my sister had Hashimotos and my aunt died with thryroid cancer but nobody would do anything because her levels were "normal". SO ARE MINE! ALWAYS ARE. SO WERE THEIRS, ALWAYS WERE. Now they are dead and my sister is losing the other side of her thyroid because the "dr" said since they took the one side out that she would be fine. Stupid seems to run rampant among dr.s huh?
