[QUOTE=disparaissant;4878285]It has been a really long time since I felt good. I've been mostly feeling good but it's so different from what I've experienced for so many years now. It started with less sleep, anxiety over my dad being ill, a new relationship. Now last night I didn't sleep at all.
I've had some delusions before but that was without sleep for 7 nights/days.
I'm not really delusional, but I keep questioning why, what's wrong with me, why do I feel good, but then feel bad about feeling good etc.
I'm just slightly debating the possibility that I really am bipolar, but I've been with the same psychiatrist for a long time and he says I'm not.
Meds, the only ones I'm on are amitriptyline and diazepam. I was taking less for a week or two, much less, but that wouldn't make me hyper?
My question is, is it possible to have euphoric feelings and mania, simply because you are lacking sleep, or would it more likely be mental illness? I think it's just the stress of some things, maybe good stress creates this insane like feeling in my brain lately.[/
Of course, I couldn't say if it's the same for you, but I was treated for depression for many years before I got a bipolar diagnoses. So it COULD be possible, I guess?? If you keep having these feelings, and have doubts, you may want to try to get a second opinion. My first few docs dismissed the idea too, but I went to one Dr ( for physical reasons and to ask why antidepressants weren't helping) and he asked me more thoroughly about my history and family history and dx me with bipolar. From what I've read about it, bipolar depression is different than clinical depression too. So you might want to look into it and see if your depression meets that criteria.
