Linda is "good person." You don't meet many in a lifetime and, before you're able to accept that oddity, you generally have to accept that those types of people have no motive behind their generosity and may not even be aware of their kindness. It seems like a personality trait, maybe learned in youth? I don't know.
She hasn't asked for any help, but I know that she's trying to get her finances straightened out so that she can get a car again. And I am going to help her out. She brought me turkey and dressing/stuffing with tons of veggies last night. If there is any "motive" behind what she's been doing, I think that it's only to help me put some weight back on.
I can help her with a down payment, monthly payments or both. And I do have an ulterior motive — if she has a car she can run an occasional errand for me.
"Unexpected kindness" is a wonderful way to express what I felt and what I still feel.
I've eaten one pie, with the help of another neighbor (who found out last Friday, at the age of 67, that he has Diabetes II). I need to finish the remaining pie within the next few days.
I don't believe that I will have any trouble.
I am, truthfully, thankful that I have some neighbors who actually seem to care a bit for me. I care for them, too.
Having a hard time right now. A small wedge of pie might help.
Thanks to all who recognized the enormous kindness that I feel and to those who commented upon it.
Three in the morning here and I'm getting a little drowsy.
Good evening.
