Here's my latest theory about this kind of thing: love is love, heterosexual or homosexual. If you are basically heterosexual, you may be impelled to find love homosexually, if you think you cannot get it otherwise. The need to give and receive love is one of the most basic of human needs. If it is suppressed one place it will try to find an outlet somewhere else.
