I can also say I have heard from several reputable sources that pdoc is a pretty unpopular speciality in med school. (Difficult and demanding work, low to no prestige, and for a specialist md quite low pay) I know in my town which has a Med school with a psych specialist program there is always a huge shortage of pdocs. I waited four months to get my latest. But I have waited over six months one time. Thankfully my GP gave me scrips to get through that wait. I was lucky. If she hadn't, I would have been out of luck on getting any meds short of hospitalizing myself. That seems an expensive and ineffective way to get refills.
