There are all sorts of studies you might be able to get into as a patient. These are usually free because you're helping them build a database or helping a med student/PhD candidate qualify for a degree. A lot of them are linked to CBT.

Ask your GP about them. If you're near a teaching hospital, there should be a few running. You might need a referral for these but in absence of a pdoc, it's a start.
