Having high protein low carb meals or snacks around every 3-4 hours or sooner if needed keeps me from having brain fog.

For me lifestyle changes fit big in my recovery hopes. Sleeping enough 7-8 hours at one time or in naps is really important. A high protein low carb diet with snacks or meals every 3-4 hours will over time reduce my swings. I also avoid alcohol and recreational drugs because those can really increase depression.

Other lifestyle changes that help me are doing yoga, exercises, mindfulness, calm music, and being active on Psych Central. If you are trying to relax to go to sleep, breathe naturally and count silently 1 on the inhale, 2 on the exhale, 3 on the inhale, 4 on the exhale...up to 10. Then start at 1 again. You can do this laying down in bed. It is better than counting sheep.
