i am in a women's trauma group that my T runs once a week for 1.5 hours. there are 3 of us, me included, that don't speak up much. our last group we basically talked about that and how it made the other chattier members feel and the reasons for why the quiet ones stay quiet. it was an intense group and i thought it was interesting because we were talking about the group process as a group. my T usually tries to ask the quieter ones what do you think about this/that?, etc... sometimes he gets eye rolls or one word answers. sometimes he even gets the "i dont feel like talking leave me alone" lol. i think its natural for some people to talk more than others. if you feel like you need to explain yourself and you WANT to do that, then go ahead! but i also think its perfectly fine to not say anything at all, or to wait until you feel ready to talk about it.
