I'm confused. Do you mean you want to pay the same amount per week, but see the therapist twice, instead of once? I don't think that's typical... I'm pretty sure that usually, if you see a T twice a week, you pay the co-pay each time you go in.

Also, if you're using insurance, the T may need to justify your visits to the insurance company. Depending on your diagnosis, the insurance company might not approve of 2x/week sessions. I think, I'm not really familiar with that...

Whether a T would allow you to just pay one co-pay, but come twice a week, is really an individual question for the T. My guess is that they might be willing to do that in some situations, but it would be seen as a type of sliding scale or financial assistance, and would be need-based (i.e. if you weren't able to afford to pay twice a week, and if T is able to afford to do that). Or, a T might allow it as a short-term measure if you're in crisis and need more support, but isn't expecting it to go on for very long.

Part of the thing with sliding scale fees... my understand is that they're set up to help people who can't afford the regular fees. So, if your co-pay is $10/session and you're working/have income, it would be unlikely that your T would waive the 2nd copay each week, since that's very affordable.

It's really all just a guess though. The only way to know for sure is to talk to your own T about your circumstances.

Good luck.
