I posted recentyl and perhaps I did not post correctly; since I am new. I have had anxiety and depression all my llife. I am struggling to get a handle on things. I have been in therapy for over a year this round. I truly enjoy my therapist and he has helped. Unfortunatley it is not enough.

I had a severe panic attack and ended up in the ER. I thought I was having a heart attack. Of course, it was not. After all the tests came back I had already started to figure out what was going on. By this time I had calmed down enough to get an idea of what it was.

The next morning on my way to work it started again. I could not breath, once there I could not swallow to eat my breakfast, could not focus or be still, just felt complete doom. Called family doctor and went in.

He is a really nice and new to me doctor. He checked the hospital report and wrote out a prescription for Xanax time release and told me to increase my Buspar.

This has helped; however, I am still experiencing the same symptons only on a lower level. I went back two weeks later and now he wants to increase my Buspar to 90 mg a day and add Abilify. Also continue with the Xanax at night.
He also put down Bipolar D3 and Anxiety as my diagnois.

Could anyone explain this?

I think it may be time to find another psychatrist. I had a very bad experience with the last one and have not seen one in years. I have been diagnosed as: Bipolar, SAD, ADHD, GAD, and can't remember the rest. Do the docs every settle on a disorder?

I really do not want to go back on the medication Merry Go Round but it looks like the Buspar has played out after 5 yrs.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. This is leading me down a dark road and I am fighting off the depression that often accompanies my anxiety.

Thanks
