Anyone read George Orwells 1984? I feel like I've suddenly had an epiphany. Like Orwell was a prophet. So many of his words ring true to me today. It was a book I read in my final year of high school for English & I feel like the teachers were trying to send a message by having us study it. Perhaps they were trying to enlighten us. "The party" in 1984 is the government & they have these slogans that become themes in the book, when you think about it they exist in practise today.

"War is peace" is a concept used today when governments engage in the so called preemptive wars like that against the Middle East. The term is a paradox, because you cannot start a war in order to prevent it.*

Our society is founded on the concept of "Freedom is slavery." We are slaves to money, we must work to survive but at the same time, almost all of us strongly believe they are free. We are told to be thankful. Just like in 1984, we use "doublethink" to believe what is essentially a paradox. In 1984 The Party (government) enforced so called "double thinking", or "doublethink" which describes the act of simultaneously accepting two mutually contradictory beliefs as correct.

Ignorance is strength is the final party slogan & the scariest. I see it everyday, I myself am torn between accepting & denying the "party slogans" that are so ingrained into our own society. We must not question authority, law, legal institutions, school books,*history,*main stream media or mainstream science. Deviation from the societal norms is corrected by society, with the help of the individuals. We are both prisoners and prison masters, constantly policing ourselves and each other.*And even though we are not aware of it, we are all subjects to carefully designed mind programming, indoctrination and brainwashing, from birth to death.
