thanks everyone. I actually use TD. I talked to them about this hoping that as an act of good will they would remove the monthly fee - or at least give me some cheques. Nope. In fact they were quite rude about it - which is yet another reason to switch banks.

Noca86 - I have looked into both Tangerine and President's Choice and either may get my service.

The thing is that you can bet if I was dealing with large amounts of money I would certainly get what I wanted. TD incidentally wants to charge me $56 for 25 plain cheques!
