That Celtic influence is all around. 2016 is a pivotal part in any Irish Republican's heart. As we examine/commemorate each aspect of the 1916 Easter Rising we realise just how much our lives are entrenched/guided by the spiritualism/beliefs of our Fathers, etc. I truly feel you're following a good road where you simply "sit amongst the shamrocks".

You are so fortunate! If I could live anywhere, or could have been born anywhere, I would have chosen either Ireland, England, Wales or Scotland. If I could move there tomorrow, I'd pack everything - cat included - and ship myself over there to live forever and never even look back. I've felt this way since I was 11 years old. Visited England in 2005, and felt like I had gone home.
There is a strong spirituality in the US too. In pockets and places. Its more evident in the Bible Belt and south...especially the deep South. The North doesn't have as strong as spiritual atmosphere, though there are spiritual people here too, don't get me wrong. But in the South there's a real sense of community around it.
Taking a walk can become a spiritual experience for me. Feeling the presence of the Good People and the Old Gods in the wind, trees...snow even. Everywhere. There are stories that some of the Good People immigrated with the Irish over to America. I love hearing those stories. From what I've read, a lot of folk customs have been dropped across the pond. Hopefully they are coming back. They are really wonderful.
