Having lived in the Southern California Mojave desert for almost 20 years, I can relate to heat....but it was mostly DRY heat....but the wind was bad also & the dust would blow so bad you could hardly see across the street out at the ranch where I kept my horses. Here in KY, the heat the first few years was bad but it's cooled down so much. Had to laugh because the first few years here I was dealing with hot flashed that I blamed on the weather....had no idea they were hot flashes. In the summer after working with the horses or out in the fields on my farm....those cool showers feel wonderful but I usually start off hot then cool them down.....in the winter in the really cold temps.....those hot showers feel wonderful.

What I hate about hot is that it's impossible to cool down, but in the freezing temps, one can always put on layers to warm up. I have had several almost heat strokes in my life time......so it makes me even that much more sensitive to the heat.....or so the medical profession says. Doing the least amount of activity is probably the best for staying cool. I also have ceiling fans or fans sitting on the table that I let blow in the heat & it does cool down my skin temp to be a lot more bearable.....but not comfortable.
