Hello,

Sorry that you have been suffering for so long, with many different symptoms as well.

I can relate in many ways. I've had many different illnesses as well over the years, one of which is treatment-resistant depression. I've gone in-patient a few times.... One of my first times going in as an adult (sometime in 2008), the psychiatrist recommended trying the ECT with me and I flipped out. I have epilepsy as well, which I underwent brain surgery to bring my seizure disorder under control in 03/06. The pDoc tried to explain how ECT was actually helpful in managing seizure disorders, but I sure as heck wasn't listening. {I actually called my epileptologist (a neurologist who specialized in treating epilepsy) from the hospital, to see what he had to say about ECT. He agreed with the pDoc & said that ECT would not hurt my seizure disorder, and might actually help.} I still refuse to try it, personally. Just thought I would share that with you, since you're seriously considering the ECT, but are afraid of how it may affect your seizure disorder.

Best wishes to you, take care!
