Qwerty - have you ever considered mercury poisoning? I can understand the depression relating to your divorce and medical discharge back in 90s, but what you're describing sounds like a toxicity response.

Not sure the VA is going to be super helpful with this line of thinking. I would definitely start researching online and elsewhere on your own if you think this merits exploring.
