Honestly most jobs have a base salary unless you're in some field where experience matters. I sometimes low ball myself only because I know that the starting rate is higher. If it was a field where I had experience but wasn't satisfied with the pay rate I would surely bring it up right away. My dad has told me stories where he took little pay just to show them what you can actually do. But with saying that, just make sure that they don't take advantage of your kindness.
