I think "affirmations" got a bad rap from Al Franken's great Stuart Smalley sketches on Saturday Night Live. Does anyone find them useful?
I'd like to try them to help me get through difficult mornings. I have a great life -- wonderful family, great town, great dog, etc. I should be able to take a lot of comfort in that when I'm struggling. But it often doesn't seem to help. Is there a good way to put into words the fact that I have a great life and should just enjoy it for what it is rather than worrying about the future?
(Yes, I have OCD/anxiety.)
