hey...
these handy little gadets.. the ones that truely work go from 150-250 dollars.. they are Hepa - that is what you look for,, and yes.. I hate dust so I get one that does a big room - and put it in a little room - so that it really cleans the air..re-circulates and cleans the air several times an hour.
Another trick someone taught me.. to buy cheese cloth.. and put it on your vents.. then you can either wash.....or toss - depends on how you feel. This traps dust.. before it circulates.
Actually when I went to pick up the cheese cloth.. a woman at the store pointed me at some.. other material kinda like you would "stuff" in pillows.. but it is in long "sheets"..
I can use this during the winter - for the heat because the furnance has enough blower power to go thru that material... but for air conditioning.. I use the cheese cloth.
I also had my duct work cleaned out by professional.. and put the cheese cloth on the air intakes to the furnace.
You do have to be careful..... do not put any type of cloth that the air cannot easily get thru.. OR you will overheat the blower on the furnance. and burn it out......
But it does help.. alot.. and the cheese cloth is cheap.. traps alot of the dust and such before it goes in the air..
ahhhhh to the dust free home.. joy.. pure joy..
Getting rid of blinds.. is another thing I did.. so that I could take curtains down and wash.. and I eliminated carpeting..only wood flooring..and ceramic. (hey I did the refinishing myself..)..
I don't use a comforter.. I use a pretty sliky kind of coverlet..
and then I put that up for the night and use blankets that can be washed.. no bedskirt - the coverlet goes down to the floor..
all in the quest.. for relief from allergies and asthma..lol
Yes, I know when you rent .. you can't... do alot of these things..
take care...
