What was your landlords excuse for these noises?
My neighbors downstairs sometimes sound like a herd of elephants walking up the stairs, the doors close really hard here, so it would seem inconsiderate. I've three kids above them, only once did he ever knock. I admit it was actually an I give moment with my kids for me, they were wrestling each other and it so happened to be an earlier than usual bedtime for a 4am out the door to work. It wasn't lasting animosity or anything. They do sometimes play music loudly, but come to find out it's when the girlfriend is cleaning the place. I've been here almost two years. It's turned into a decent neighborliness.
Sorry to read that after five years it leaves you feeling forced to flee your home.
