What I am trying now is eating every two hours very small amounts. I am following a combination of the mediterranean diet with the blue zone areas diet. These are not weight loss, but lifestyle changes for better health. I take my two hour time period even farther. Example: 8 walnuts is 1 serving. I let myself have 1 every 15 minutes. Sometimes I stare at the next nut for 12. But waiting 15 minutes is easier then anything else. I also am trying to push water. Every time I want to just grab the nut, I go for the water instead. So far I am doing good. Right now, I am doing my 15's with a sandwich I cut in small pieces.
If you look at servings per day of a healthy diet, you will see there are many servings, and ways to break them up. Take an hour or two to eat an apple. Small pieces, 1 every 5 minutes if cut into 20 pieces. I also am trying to chew each piece 60 times.
I fixate on food so much, for me - this slowing down and healthy choices is working (so far).
