In my therapy which lasted almost 6 years; and is now over, my therapist was definitely looking out for my best interest. Though he let me make decisions when needed, he often said the decision is yours!
He in NO WAY swayed me to do things his way. I think he was also looking at his success rate with those he served, by this I mean "if I came to him messed up" why would he allow me to continue that way?? If he did, he wasn't a righteous man held to his oath of "doing no harm" to those in his care. Should this happen to anyone I would prosecute to the fullest! A therapist who does harm shouldn't be in practice.
