Hey.
Sorry you are struggling. You really need to check into teaching regs in your state. In a lot of states, you can teach on a waiver if teaching cert is lapsed. Usually you can teach on a waiver for at least a couple years. Time enough to get your cert back. You will get less money. But in my state, it isn't a huge pay cut.
Also your concerns about master's grads wanting all the private school jobs. That isn't necessarily true. I am getting my master's and won't even apply at private school. The pay is too low. There is a huge pay gap there. Public pays significantly more. I can't afford private school salary with my student loans.
If you would be happier teaching, I urge you to research both regs and local job market. Hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised.
