I made a post a while ago, elsewhere on PC, where I perhaps wasn't clear enough. I had been trying to explain to somebody (IRL) a tiny fragment about my PTSD, without actually putting a name to it - I was pretty sure that if I even mentioned PTSD I would receive an unhelpful response

As it was, I received a dismissive (and "frankly"

disrespectful

) response anyway.

(I was trying to "build a support system" - a "healthy" thing to do, right?

) Sometimes I wonder why bother talking to "humans" ..... I doubt if many I've known IRL would have survived the traumas I've survived any "better" than I have

Isn't there an old saying about don't judge someone before you've walked a mile in their shoes

(PS just to be super clear, the disrespectful response was from the IRL person I had been talking to)
(This isn't about anyone on PC)
