I have never taken a stimulant nor nefazodone. I'm guessing it was something in the brand name rather than the formula of the generics.
Some psychiatrists have no problem prescribing Tramadol for depression. You can read reviews for it if you google "Tramadol reviews for depression." Remember though, stimulants and Tramadol both have abuse potential.
Tegretol, Depakote, Trileptal, and lithium can all be used off label in the treatment of major depressive disorder. I haven't tried them yet, but I have considered taking them before. I was on Topamax (used off-label as a mood stabilizer) with antidepressants and it helped, but I'm not sure if it was the Topamax alone.
Buspar was useless for me, btw. Might try gabapentin for anxiety, but I'm not sure.
