I've taken dbt the past year. I also found it difficult to learn and put things in practice, but the more I just let go of trying too hard the easier it was. I needed the skills the last few days, and I tend to just use the basic ones. It can get too complicated. For me, finding my way back to the moment is the best "s.t.o.p." skill, looking at the bigger picture, meditation, finding that safe place that was taught. I hope you continue with it and that you find it helpful. I also take meds, and have recurrent depression. Try not to blame yourself, I know what that is like. Best wishes.
