Only you can decide whether there's any benefit to the sessions you're having. I found my relationship with T1 turned into what I would categorise as a 'paid friendship'. Others have said that it's up to you to bring the appropriate material, and I agree to an extent, but your T also has a responsibility to keep the relationship therapeutic. It might be time for a review of what you want from therapy vs what you see happening. A good T will work with you to move on to more worthwhile material.
Remember, it's your dime and if you don't think you're getting what you need you have every right to speak up.
