I was in Montreal with my dog (and husband

) recently, and we met a young boy who took a liking to my dog. The boy and his mother kept calling my dog Salem Bougeone (don't have any clue whatsoever on the spelling of this). I'm not sure if he just named the dog (he was probably 3 or so) or if it actually means something.
I speak very little french so I didn't pick up on much of the conversation at all. Basically the boy and his mother came over to pet the dog, and the boy didn't want to leave. He kept talking to us in french, and then his mother was trying to get him to leave. She kept saying "Au Revoir Bougeone" and then doing the whole fake I'm leaving now thing to try to get the kid to leave, but he wasn't falling for it. The kid was very cute!
Basically it sounded like this: Boo-jaaan
Anyone have any idea?
