I clipped some rationalization points that might be adding to the stress you are experiencing. When we begin determining to "know" how another person feels in this capacity, draws concern that perhaps our own feelings might need to be addressed.
Has this coworker had a one on one discussion with you and stated verbatim his feelings to be as such?
Is he directly hostile in the workplace? Define nicely.
When he doesn't like hearing others talk nicely about you, what happens?
Working with tension in the workplace is certainly no cakewalk. We're not guaranteed that we'll have great chemistry between coworkers. I have tension with one woman, it spans years, so i just stay away from her and ignore her. I've work to do, can't be bothered by drama. Not my style.
