If it is strictly online you can't possibly know what's going on. It could be multitude of reasons such as him/her not being who they say they are. Could be a minor whose parents found out he talks to adults or could be a married man and wife found out he talks to women. Or could be his computer broke or he is too busy to be online. Or he takes a break from online chats. Or he is sick etc etc I wouldn't let it upset you
