Fairly often I get this feeling of having no emotions, like kind of blank, and I don't feel like talking and my face feels like it has no expression. When I do talk it all comes out in one tone and I can't put any feeling into it.
My psychiatrist wrote that I have 'blunted affect', does this sound like what that is? Does anyone else get this? It lasts for a few hours or a few days. I don't feel depressed when it happens, I'm not sad or tearful, just kind of blank.
I am like this all the time now and have been for years(blunted affect has been on my records for ten years)... I can fake having a bit more emotion but I can only do that for so long. It's that being blank, nothing there... It makes me feel not quite human.
