I go for the twin bed ideal..... I have even suggested to my husband due to my RA and His Arthritis - it just hard to sleep together when we both need our own space when the pain hits, which is almost always any more.
And... think about it - this way we know when the other is the mood, for they will come to the others bed.

But then again if your problem is snoring - then it might not work unless the beds are in separate rooms.... I have gone thru this with my husband for twenty years and I use to have to wake him up just so I could get to sleep - he finally opted for nasal surgery two years ago (after every thing under the sun was tried) and now his snoring is mild to only happening every once in a while.
BTW - those nasal strips that go over the outside of the nose really do work - try them.
