Have you tried to not react, or thought of doing so?
A few days ago, I had been brooding too long. Later that day, I decided to not react to my anxiety and confusion. So after a while of doing so, I felt that my brain was about to "hibernate," metaphorically speaking; I felt a kind of cold sensation in my head. Nevertheless, it was a more healthy step than to continue brooding. And I struggled to stay that way: I had this strong "need" to brood again.
