There is nothing wrong with using old meds. I was on loxitane this summer and there reason was that it works differently than any other AP in that it becomes an AD as well as it is metabolized. So it has twice the benefit and side effect risks no greater than AAPs.

I wound up unable to take it because of movement disorders but if I'd just been able to tolerate a reasonable dose I think it would have worked really well for me.
