If you always feel uncomfortable with males, ask to see female therapists - that's what I do. Although I find it odd that you'd be in any situation to overhear him saying that but obviously no one would want to continue in that situation. I know that it's uncomfortable to make yourself vulnerable to anyone, especially someone you don't know, but therapy isn't helpful because it's always comforting. Sometimes it brings out the uncomfortable issues that need addressing. But you do it because they're professionals and they can help and I know it's hard but I know from personal experience that it's very helpful to be as fully open and honest as possible. It's good to ask yourself what you're afraid of . Good luck
