sorry you've got some anxiety going, seems to be going around
You mean after I got referred & they lost it in the system & then the psychiatrist went on holiday? Yes... I remember that.

Not great, but in the end of the day it's a "free" service, so can't complain too much!

I hope your appointment comes through soon. Is it because you moved that you are having to wait for a referral to the local services?

As for the anxiety... thanks. It seems to be closely related to my sleep problems. The more I lay awake in the early hours, the more anxiety I feel. Not quite sure what came first, the chicken or the egg but they are linked. I suppose the likely culprit is cutting back my nicotine.

I had very little problems with quitting the first time. My anxiety only came around noticeably a few months after I quit.... I guess now it's "established", it's always in the background just waiting for a trigger.

Still, it's mostly in the mornings, usually goes away within a couple of hours of getting out of bed.

I don't feel the need to go back on SSRIs. Yet. We'll see what happens after I come off nicotine altogether. I think if after a month of being off nicotine, it's still around then I'll go back on them. Certainly no reason not to as I tolerated Citalopram very well.
