Unfortunately, medications can effect different people very differently. So even though it works very well for your uncle, it may or may not for you...

It's definitely worth trying that or others if you think the risperidal isn't helping the way you want though.

What dosage of risperidal are you on now?

Something I will say though, is it is quite unusual for medication to completely remove symptoms.

Myself, the medication never completely took away my voices.

So it might be a case of settling for one you tolerate well that helps a bit, if not fully. I think for most people it's the side effects that dictate what meds they end up on.

No harm in trying a few to see if they help more though.
