Not so long ago, I was going through a rough patch in my life and turned to the very same forums that you do for help, advice, and simple support. I got it and I felt relieved to be able to share my thoughts and feelings with others who understood and helped me better understand them.
Sometimes people can get burned out by offering nonstop advice and support, and never hearing anything positive or good coming from their advice. Well, I'm here today to say two things -- one, thank you for the advice and support offered to me at that time, as it did help me.
And two, I wanted to share the good news that I'm getting married! I met a wonderful woman through an online personals site and after dating for nearly the past year, we decided to tie the knot in Antigua on October 4. We're very excited about the whole thing (as you can imagine) and since I see many of you as my extended family in many ways, I just wanted to share this good news.
You can find someone out there who is right for you, even if it may not seem like it. It takes patience and persistence, and often times, a lot of pain before you get into a relationship that really works on every level (for both of you). I know how frustrating it is to be in a relationship that isn't working, no matter how hard you try (a good sign that things either need to change or one of you needs to leave).
I wish you all a good weekend, and happiness in making your relationship work or finding a way to get into one that does.
Best,
John
