from my own experience in this department I would say that the make up sex happens due to the fact that one way guys tend to bond with their special lady is by having sex - thru the sexual pleasure of intercourse.

So, I personally would not dismiss the sex part, just try to find some thing that works for you as well - as to help your heart bond back to him.
