Is the apartment that you moved into a Federal building? If so, I'm pretty sure that they need to give you 30-day notice when requiring additional funds of some kind. Sorry that your friend isn't willing to come visit you. Usually, these buildings aren't in the greatest neighborhoods, nor are they in the best of shape.

I live in a Federal building, for disabled people, downtown. Not exactly the nicest place to be. But, there are a limited amount of options out there. Then I remind myself that I am doing the best that I can.

I do recommend getting a social worker. They help SO much! There are lots of programs out there, as well as ins and outs. Social workers really can help you with a lot of areas.
