Schizophrenia is just one outcome (1% of the population), some people (most!) will not get that far , maybe they have protective biological qualities or better coping mechanisms. BUT..could go on to develop general anxiety disorder , or OCD or bipolar without psychotic features.
OR they could just grow out of it , just a phase..
