I wonder if perhaps he scraped you with a sharp fingernail. That could hurt like hell and cause some bleeding. When you say "a lot" what is a lot, how long did you bleed for? I think medical evaluation may be a good idea as well, but I don't think there's anything wrong with getting in touch with your therapist first and getting some support there.
